The Beyond a Ballot Book Club is a small group of women from across Canada who come together each month for an intimate conversation about political books.
FALL COHORT
September to December 2024
HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS—WE HAVE MADE SOME CHANGES!
For Cohort 3 we are changing things up and expanding to include more women!
1. We are now offering in-person cohorts!
Grab your friends, some takeout and meet 1x per month at someone’s house to discuss the books. We’ll supply the questions! You also get access to all online discussions.
2. We are planning IRL Author meet-ups!
We’ve teamed up with Penguin Randomhouse Canada to bring you in-person events with BaB Book club authors in Toronto and Vancouver! These go along with our other virtual author meetings.
(Don’t worry, we’ll be sending around the videos to everyone!)
Hosted by Moderator Rachel Levy acclaimed book reviewer, @rachels.booknook, meetings give book club members a chance to dive into politics through reading!

In Person Cohort
We heard you! You want to discuss books IRL! So, here’s our new plan...
Grab 3-4 of your friends. Read the books. Take turns hosting each month.
HOW IT WORKS:
Sign up for in-person
Find 3-4 friends who live in your area and commit to each hosting 1 meeting during the cohort (or host all yourself!).
Read the books
Meet 1x per month - The person who hosts leads the disussion (We supply the directions and questions!). You can change hosts every month or keep the same one.
Note: You dont have to meet in people’s homes! Some groups may choose to meet in parks/coffee shops or restaurants.
Each member has the option to join the online cohort meetings as well!
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
Direction and guideance to lead all in person meetings including questions and “homework”
Workbook
Access to our BaB Book Club Whatsapp group to chat with women across Canada about the books you are loving!
3 Virual Meeting (Optional!) in case you can’t get enough!
Free tickets to in-person BaB Book Club events.
